The Albanian-American Cultural Foundation is dedicated to promoting education and cultural exchanges between the United States and Albanian populated Balkan countries to increase the understanding and appreciation of Albanian culture and history, with its primary focus on Albanians in Montenegro. In the past, the foundation has sponsored higher education through numerous ways. It provided scholarships to Albanian students studying in the United States and Albanian studies and symposiums at United States universities. In Ulqin, Montenegro, the foundation helped in the publication of books in both Albanian and English on Albanian subjects. It also sponsored lectures, exhibits, films and concer- ts, literary events, and performances. The foundation sponsors programs that help first-generation Ameri- cans of Albanian ancestry to become responsible ci- tizens of the United States, through involvements in social and community service. The focus of the Albanian-American Cultural Foundation remains on education, cultural preservation, promotion, and appreciation of Albanian culture.
